Our mission is to put human stories at the heart of the
public conversation on homelessness.
Homelessness is a subject often spoken about, and yet those homeless are rarely the ones speaking.
Stories of the Streets
With the help of a disposable camera, each individual who chooses to take part is given the chance to photograph the world through their eyes. They are also given the chance to share their stories.
We then curate exhibitions of these photos and stories and we facilitate sales of the photos.
The photographer earns a portion of each sale. E.g. Stories of the Streets Manchester we sold prints for £15 with £10 going to the photographer.
The remaining monies goes towards future exhibitions and initiatives.
People of the Streets
We started in a university bedroom, we’ve since crossed-borders and even continents.
Homelessness is experienced throughout the world.
With each exhibition and body of work more people are empowered; the collective grows stronger; the ability to compare and contrast grows stronger; and hopefully prejudice and ignorance grows weaker.
